EC's Preliminary DSA Finding Against TikTok, and the Proposed Industrial Accelerator Act
The European Commission ("EC") announced its preliminary finding that TikTok may have breached the Digital Services Act ("DSA") through what the EC describes as "addictive design" features, including infinite scroll, autoplay, and push notifications. Separately, the EC adopted a legislative proposal called the Industrial Accelerator Act ("IAA"), which is designed to strengthen Europe's industrial base by boosting manufacturing, growing businesses and creating jobs across the European Union, while supporting the adoption of cleaner, future-ready technologies.
