Yusuke Nakano is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, with broad experience in the areas of antitrust, business dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property. In the antitrust area, he has particularly broad experience in cartel investigation and merger control, including international ones. Further, Mr. Nakano has assisted many Japanese companies and individuals involved in antitrust cases in foreign jurisdictions, in close cooperation with co-counsel in those jurisdictions. He has also represented various companies in administrative, civil and criminal litigation, mass and complex litigation, innovative mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and licensing arrangements. In addition to his professional experience at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, Mr. Nakano worked for the New York law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, as a foreign intern (2001 to 2002).

Vassili Moussis is an English qualified lawyer who is registered to practise law in Japan. His practice focuses on EU and international competition law with a particular emphasis on inbound and outbound merger control and international cartel matters. He is also advising on a wide range of issues including energy related issues, distribution arrangements, intellectual property and other commercial matters, which often have an international dimension. Vassili is recognized in the Hall of Fame of competition lawyers in Japan by Legal 500 Asia-Pacific and as a Leading Individual for antitrust and competition law in Japan by Chambers Asia-Pacific for over 10 years now. Kiyoko Yagami mainly handles anti-monopoly and competition-related matters, joint venture, and direct investment in Asia and emerging countries. She also has extensive experiences in cross-border contract negotiation and dispute resolution.

Etsuko Hara is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune with broad experience in the area of antitrust, including international cartel cases, multi-jurisdictional merger filings as well as distribution arrangements, franchising, and strategic alliances. She handles various inbound and outbound cross border transactions, especially in the form of direct investment, joint ventures, and distribution, license and franchise agreements.

Takeshi Suzuki is working mainly in the fields of antitrust and competition law, M&A transactions and other corporate legal affairs. Prior to joining Anderson Mōri & Tomotsune, he practiced cross-border M&A transaction matters as well as Japan and EU competition law in Tokyo and Brussels for approximately four years at a leading UK firm and then worked for the Merger Investigation Division of the Japan Fair Trade Commission as a chief case handler of merger filings for approximately two years. With this background, his practice focuses on Japan and international competition law with a particular emphasis on merger control. He also provides legal advice in a number of matters related to domestic cartel/bid rigging, distribution, intellectual property, Subcontract Act.

Ryoichi Kaneko has extensive experience in M&A, private equity, and emerging growth/venture capital, and also advises on merger control and foreign direct investment (FDI) regulations. Ryoichi’s professional experience includes stints with the Corporate/M&A and Competition Law departments at top law firms in London, Brussels and Madrid. Besides the depth and breadth of his experience, Ryoichi is also particularly noted for his ability to provide clear, practical and highly effective bilingual advice to international clients on cross-border transactions involving Japan.

Kazuaki Nagai is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, and has been principally involved in various finance matters such as M&A Finance, Mezzanine Finance, structured finance including securitization and PFI (private finance initiatives). Mr. Nagai also has experience in various fund matters including PE funds and corporate rehabilitation funds, bankruptcy related matters including business rehabilitation and filing of petition for bankruptcy related proceedings, and M&A matters such as reorganization including business transfer and mergers, and subscription and acquisitions of equities including classified shares, and other corporate financial transactions, and general commercial transactions. Akira Moriwaki's legal practice in China first began in 1998, back when doing so was still a relatively rarity amongst Japanese lawyers. He continued to practice in Beijing until 2007, during which time, he dealt with a large variety of legal issues encountered by Japanese companies then entering into the Chinese market. Although the main focus of his work continues to remain in China related business matters, since returning to Japan he has used his unique experiences to widen his areas of interest to include other Asian jurisdictions, such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Singapore and Myanmar. Akira is highly experienced in a wide range of fields, such as green-field direct investment into Asian jurisdictions, M&A, private equity and Competition law. Through over a decade of experience, he has come to be recognized as one of the foremost and most experienced Japanese lawyers in international trade issues, such as anti-dumping and countervailing duty. For over 3 years, Akira has provided invaluable support to Japan's ODA project relating to the promulgation of Chinese Company law, Competition law and other distribution regulations, and he was also involved in the promulgation of Tort Law of China. Since 2009, he has been conducting lectures in Mandarin Chinese as a visiting professor at Renmin University of China (RUC) Law School. In December 2012, he was ranked first in the "overall ranking" and second in the "companies choice ranking" under the Foreign Law division of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun "Most active lawyer of the year" awards.

Atsushi Yamada is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune focusing on competition/antitrust law. His practice covers all aspects of competition/antitrust law including assisting clients in investigations by competition authorities (cartels/dominance/unfair trade practices), representation in courts/tribunals challenging decisions made by competition authorities, follow-on civil litigation, and merger filings. He also provides advice relating to structuring new businesses and compliance programs. His clients include both multinational and Japanese companies in various industries, such as information technology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, construction, transportation, financial institutions and trading houses. Prior to joining Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, he has worked at the Tokyo office of a US law firm and a local Japanese firm after serving as a judge at the Tokyo District Court as well as other courts. With such background, he has extensive experience in litigation and general corporate matters. He is also well experienced in providing labor and employment law advice to both Japanese and non-Japanese companies.

Mr. Yoshinori Aoyagi is a partner working primarily in the fields of M&A including cross border transactions. He has also been advising on various corporate law related issues including shareholders meetings and corporate governance. He has also been involved with antitrust issues including merger control and has also been advising on healthcare and life science related issues.
