Takefumi Sato is a partner specializing primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution proceedings.  His experience covers a broad range of disputes, such as, securities litigations, M&A and Joint Venture related disputes, franchise business lawsuits, disputes over control of a company, and defective products lawsuits.  He also has a broad experience in the areas of labor and employment, including, advising revision of company rules, strategic advice in a pre-dispute phase, negotiation with protesting employees, handling lawsuits, preliminary injunction and labor tribunal, and advising on collective bargaining with labor unions.

Kensuke Otsuki has provided advice to domestic and foreign clients focused on employment and labor-related law, such as human resources and labor management, labor litigation, labor tribunal and other employment/labor disputes. He has also engaged in practices related to mergers and acquisitions, general corporate (e.g., advising and attending shareholders’ meetings), and litigation and dispute resolutions.

Junichi Ueda is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, primarily involved in general corporate matters, including matters associated with labor and employment law, social insurance, labor insurance and pension law, corporate law, and personal information protection law. Further, he also has abundant experience in litigation and other dispute resolution procedures.

Mr. Miyano's practice, through over 35 years of his professional carrier, covers really a wide range of areas, including general corporate, commercial transactions, M&A, labor issues and international finance (including securities issuance). Kenichi Masuda has represented many local and foreign clients in a broad spectrum of businesses and industries. He has extensive experience in advising foreign clients and is familiar with cross-border issues. In particular, he regularly advises clients on mergers and acquisitions of listed and unlisted businesses (including, but not limited to, share acquisitions and divestments and business acquisitions and divestments for foreign clients where the target is a Japanese company or business), joint ventures and other cross-border investments, and corporate restructurings. His scope of experience also includes assisting and representing venture companies in various aspects including start-up, equity finance and initial public offerings, as well as establishing venture capital or other private equity funds, advising venture or other private equity funds on investments in Japanese businesses including high-tech businesses as well as distressed companies. He regularly provides legal services on employment and labor union relations (including representation of client companies at the court and other dispute resolution forum), real property transactions, intellectual property issues, general corporate matters (including corporate governance and compliance issues for listed companies) and commercial matters. Mr. Masuda served as a Committee Member for two committees organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for the purpose of stimulating venture business and investments into the venture business in Japan: the Committee for Improving the Business Environment for Private Equity Finance in Japan in 2000, which developed proposals for revisions to the Japanese corporate law, and the Committee for Examining Desirable Disclosure Systems of the Venture Business in Japan in 2001, which developed proposals for revisions to the Japanese Securities Exchange Law. Mr. Masuda also taught M&A as an adjunct lecturer at the Graduate School for Law and Politics of The University of Tokyo (2011-2013, 2014-2016).

Junichi Kondo is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune and is engaged principally in the fields of general corporate matters with an emphasis on M&A, joint venture and other corporate transactions including M&A-related financing. Yukiko Imazu focuses her practice in the area of labor and employment and acts on behalf of both Japanese and non-Japanese companies in advising on labor and employment issues. Kei Akagawa (Mr.) is a partner who heads the dispute practice group of Anderson Mori & Tomotsune. He is specialized in dispute resolution (litigation, arbitration and out of court dispute resolution, including international dispute resolution). He is experienced in the various aspects of dispute resolution that arise in connection with corporate, including consumer related matters. In particular, he constantly engages in disputes concerning M&A transactions, Finance transactions, IT matters, Internet issues, Energy transactions, Real Estate transactions, Product Safety issues, Labor issues and Tax issues in Japan and overseas.

Yutaka Shimoo is a partner who principally focuses on tax, wealth management and dispute resolution, and also broadly handles corporate legal affairs including corporate affairs, labor and employment, and crisis management. With regard to tax and wealth management, Yutaka provides advice from both legal and tax perspectives, drawing on his extensive work experience as a lawyer and his experience as an officer with the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau. She has extensive experience in giving advice to non-Japanese clients who are unfamiliar with Japanese labor laws and practices. Ms. Kamio also has considerable experience in general corporate matters.
