Takahiko Yamada specializes in financial regulation, asset management, investment funds, and insurance and financial transactions. He has substantial experience advising broker dealers, banks, insurance companies, asset managers and other financial institutions on matters of financial regulation. He has also served on secondment as Deputy Director in the Planning and Coordination Bureau (Financial Markets Division) of the Financial Services Agency of Japan (July 2009 - February 2012), where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulations governing investment management businesses in Japan, including the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, the Investment Trust and Investment Corporation Act and the Act on Securitization of Assets, among others. Takahiko also participated in the development of new legislation during his secondment with the Financial Services Agency of Japan.
