On December 19, 2009, Renmin University of China School of Law and Beijing Economics and Law Association (BJELA) co-hosted the Renmin University - Anti-monopoly Law Summit: "International Forum on the Implementation of the Anti-monopoly Law in the Post-Financial Crisis Period" at Renmin University in Beijing, China. At the summit, Director Mr. Ming Shang from the Anti-Monopoly Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, Director Mr. Yinghong Cao from the Anti-Monopoly and Anti-Unfair Competition Enforcement Bureau of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and Director Mr. Zeheng Luo from the Department of Price Supervision of National Development and Reform Commission presented the efforts and approaches of their respective agencies. Mr. Akinori Uesugi, the former chairman of the Japan Fair Trade Commission, from Japan was also invited to the summit, and presented post-war Japan's approach to competition law. As part of the summit, Akira Moriwaki, Esq., who is a partner of our firm and a visiting professor at Renmin University of China, delivered a lecture entitled "Japanese Anti-Monopoly Law and Cartel Regulation" in Chinese.
