We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Yoshihiro Kai, Special Counsel, has joined our firm as of January 1, 2010.

Prior to joining Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, Mr. Kai served as a counselor for the Cabinet Legislative Bureau, where he was primarily engaged in examining legislative bills.

Mr. Kai received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tokyo in 1989, completed his training at the Legal Training and Research Institute and was appointed as public prosecutor in 1992. He served at the Tokyo and Fukuoka District Public Prosecutors Offices followed by the Criminal Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Justice. Following obtaining his Masters in Law from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, Mr. Kai held prominent positions at the Nagoya, Tokyo and Saga District Public Prosecutors Offices, Criminal Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, General Coordination Division of the Financial Services Agency and the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice.
