We Welcome Our New Partners, Koya Uemura, Naoki Iguchi, Shiho Koizumi, Takefumi Sato and Takaharu Totsuka, and Our New Special Counsel, Akane Matsumoto (2009.1.1) 
We are pleased to announce that Koya Uemura, Naoki Iguchi, Shiho Koizumi, Takefumi Sato and Takaharu Totsuka have been promoted to partners of the firm as of January 1, 2009.

Mr. Koya Uemura was admitted to the Japanese bar in 1998, after receiving his Bachelor of Law degree in 1995 from Kyoto University. He also obtained a Master of Laws degree from the New York University School of Law in 2002.

Mr. Naoki Iguchi was admitted to the Japanese bar in 2000, after receiving his Bachelor of Law degree in 1992 and his Master of Laws degree in 1999 from the University of Tokyo. He also obtained a Master of Law degree from Stanford University School of Law in 2006.

Ms. Shiho Koizumi was admitted to the Japanese bar in 2000, after receiving her Bachelor of Law degree in 1998 from Keio University. She also obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Southern California Law School in 2006.

Mr. Takefumi Sato was admitted to the Japanese bar in 2000, after receiving his Bachelor of Law degree in 1999 from the University of Tokyo.

Mr. Takaharu Totsuka was admitted to the Japanese bar in 2003, after receiving his Bachelor of Law degree in 1995 from the University of Tokyo and his Master of Laws degree in 2000 from Harvard Law School. Prior to joining our firm in 2003, Mr. Totsuka worked for the Bank of Japan for seven years.

We are also pleased to announce that Akane Matsumoto has been promoted to the position of special counsel of the firm as of January 1, 2009.

Ms. Akane Matsumoto was admitted to the Japanese bar in 1998, after receiving her Bachelor of Law degree in 1996 from Kyoto University. She also obtained a Master of Laws degree from Cornell Law School in 2001.
