The ALB In-House Legal Summit Tokyo 2008 was held on May 30, 2008 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Tokyo, which involved experienced in-house practitioners of large international enterprises. Our partner, Mr. Takashi Toichi, delivered a presentation entitled "M&A Practice under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law" during a workshop and discussed the following issues:

The presentation analyzed recent M&A practice by focusing on TOB Regulation and by outlining 102 TOBs that took place in the year 2007. The legal issues concerning recent practice under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law and those which have gained recent significance in M&A were discussed. The presentation of these topics was followed by lively discussion among the presenter and the participants.
